The PEDIGREE Foundation Announces Expansion of Programs Into Canada
The PEDIGREE Foundation, a charitable organization begun in 2008 by Mars Petcare, announced expansion of their educational and support programs into Canada. The goal of the foundation is to increase adoptions, fund pet welfare programs, and raise awareness of responsible pet care.
Expanded Programs
The expanded Canadian programs include:
- A shelter grant program to increase the chances that adopted dogs and cats receive necessary medical care and vaccines, helping to increase their adoption rate.
- The Pets at Risk Fund, designed to provide financial assistance to those who are unable to cover the cost of medical care for their adopted pets.
- An Awareness Fund to help with advocacy campaigns, spay/neuter programs, and microchipping/pet identification campaigns.
Benefit to Canadian Pet Shelters
The expansion will allow Canadian pet shelters to receive support and assistance from the PEDIGREE Foundation. This will allow them to increase the health and adoptability of the pets they serve and allow more Canadian pet owners access to the aid they need.
Opportunity to Give
The PEDIGREE Foundation is a non-profit organization that relies on public donations to continue its welfare programs. Those who are interested in supporting the Foundation can donate at their website or through social media with #AdoptaPetShelter.
